Benzoin resinous essential oil

Benzoin is a resin derived from the bark of several species of trees in the genus Styrax. Benzoin essential oil contains various chemical compounds that contribute to the oil's scent and healing properties. While benzoin is often recommended for topical use, it is essential to know that it is highly concentrated.

This essential oil is resinoid, meaning it has the consistency of thick syrup or thin honey. We do not recommend resinoids for diffusers that operate with water reservoirs. Resinoids can be diffused by placing a few drops in the melted wax of a natural candle or on top of a candle-lit diffuser (dilute first with a carrier oil). Most people will dilute resinoids in a carrier oil for topical application or use them diluted in baths.
