Cinnamon oil makes a great disinfectant that will effectively clean toilets, refrigerators, kitchen counters, doorknobs, and cutting boards. It may be effective at clearing up fungal infections including ones on the feet, but caution should be used when applying topically and dilutions of less than 1% are recommended. Cinnamon oil also has been shown to work as an insect repellent (black ants, mosquitoes, roaches and flies) and may be sprayed on bed sheets to assist in the elimination of bed bugs. Adding a few drops to your shampoo may also help to deter/kill lice. This oil is very effective at killing germs including those that cause viral infections which makes it a great choice to diffuse in low dilutions during cold and flu seasons. The smell of cinnamon oil may help to alleviate nausea, stomach upset, diarrhea and help promote good digestion.
